Policy for minimisation of disposable items

Since 2019, the university has banned disposable tableware and single-use plastic straws in all campus restaurants under the “Restrictions for the Use of Disposable Tableware” policy. In 2022, we launched the “Reducing the Use of Disposable Tableware and Packaged Drinking Water Program.” As part of this, campus restaurants offer discounts to students and staff who bring their own eco-friendly containers, with increased discounts in 2023 to further reduce single-use items. Additionally, cafeteria vendors are required to provide only reusable containers and cups for on-campus meetings and catered events. These efforts reflect our commitment to minimizing disposable waste.
