Policy- and lawmakers outreach and education
1. NYCU offers part-time advanced degrees and allows policymakers, lawmakers, and the public to take individual credit courses. The School of Law has excelled in engaging with policymakers, with its annual technology law conference attracting government and private sector attendees for over two decades.
2. In 2023, the university partnered with the Kaohsiung City Government, Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital, and 9 Rise International Mobile Health Technology to develop the “Comprehensive Elderly Care Platform,” a smart app connecting medical services, caregivers, and users.
3. The university held a book release forum for alumnus Hong-Jen Chang’s The Health Insurance Crisis the Government Won’t Tell You About, calling for urgent reforms to the health insurance global budget system.
4. Professor Liang-Cheng Chang led the founding of the “Taiwan Society of Groundwater Resources and Hydrogeology,” promoting international academic exchange. His contributions earned him the prestigious “Da Yu Award” in 2023.
