Cross sectoral dialogue about SDGs
The university actively initiates and participates in cross-sectoral dialogue about the SDGs, including conferences, workshops, and collaborative events that bring together government, NGOs, academia, industry, and other stakeholders. NYCU’s Involvement in Cross-Sectoral Dialogue on the SDGs:
■Hosting Conferences and Workshops: The university regularly hosts national and international conferences, seminars, and forums focused on the SDGs. Conferences, seminars, and forums to be held in 2023 such as the Geroscience Technology Innovation Summit, 2023 Asian Law Schools Association (ALSA) Conference, and 2023 Impact Investing Forum.
■Collaborative Research and Policy Dialogues: Taiwan’s health insurance system faces significant challenges in terms of finances, new drugs, medical care, and the overall structure of the system. In 2023, we held a special forum, inviting distinguished alumni Hong-Jen Chang, former General Manager of the National Health Insurance Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare, along with representatives of medical payers and providers. The forum aimed to collectively advocate for urgent reforms to the total health insurance budget system.
■Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Partners: In 2023, we signed a MOU with the Hsinchu City Government to promote smart cities and enhance the city’s livability and sustainability. We utilise architectural models, cadastres, LiDAR, and other data to establish digital twin models, gradually developing a comprehensive three-dimensional map information platform for Hsinchu City. This platform can serve as a valuable reference for the city government in urban planning, land use, city renovation, architectural design, and other related areas.
