University access to local farmers and food producers
1. NYCU Co-op organises the “Auditorium Market” on a weekly basis, providing local farmers with a platform to sell their fresh produce, homemade foods, and a variety of agricultural products, including fruits and vegetables from small-holder farms, as well as light meals and other locally sourced foods.
2. NYCU Six Fuel Team raises its own chickens, shares produce, runs a community canteen, and trains volunteers to strengthen social networks and foster a sense of unity within the local community. In early 2023, the chicken coop was moved to the university’s Guangfu campus to maintain operations, aligning with our social responsibility courses and promoting sustainability in partnership with surrounding communities.
