Water-conscious planting

The plants on campus are primarily drought-resistant species, such as succulents, rhododendrons, wild date palms, Formosan sweet gums, Livistona chinensis, autumn maple trees, Christ plants, and Millettia pinnata. These plants not only make it easier to manage and maintain the campus landscape but also serve the purposes of air purification and soil stabilization. Additionally, we regularly trim tree branches to reduce excessive leaf growth, which helps minimize evapotranspiration. (Plants with high evapotranspiration rates require more frequent watering.)
