Local community outreach for energy efficiency

NYCU makes a significant contribution to the local community through a range of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. In collaboration with Wistron, the university established the Joint Industrial Innovation Centre for AI and Green Energy (JCAG) to promote clean energy practices within local industries. The centre focuses on integrating AI and IoT technologies to improve energy efficiency, addressing critical environmental challenges. NYCU also engages with the community by implementing smart energy-saving systems on campus, such as AI-driven management of lighting and air conditioning, which has reduced energy consumption by 30%. These initiatives serve as educational models, demonstrating the importance of energy conservation to the local community. Additionally, the university hosts events to raise awareness about clean energy and sustainable practices, fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and local residents.
