Promote sustainable commuting
NYCU undertakes concrete actions to promote sustainable commuting and reduce the use of private vehicles. The University operates 10 YouBike stations—3 on Yangming, 4 on Guangfu, and 1 each on Boai, Liujia, and Gueiren—and has added shared e-bike and e-scooter docks at scooter lots. Yangming hosts two car-sharing stations with student/faculty discounts. To encourage trips from cars, NYCU offers free inter-campus public transportation for students, faculty, and staff. In coverage gaps, subsidized ride services keep fares low and encourage riders to use transit. Campus traffic is optimized with automated payment kiosks and license plate recognition, streamlining access and parking so that sustainable modes become the most convenient and lowest-friction choice.
