Smoke-free policy

NYCU implements a campus-wide smoke-free policy, completely prohibiting both conventional smoking and the use of e-cigarettes. Led by the Health Services Section, the university provides smoking cessation clinic services and actively raises awareness about the dangers of e-cigarettes. Since 2022, participants in the smoking cessation medication assistance program have been exempt from co-payment fees, lowering the financial barrier and increasing the success rate of quitting.

NYCU offers a 6-week smoking cessation program for faculty, staff, & students. The course covers topics like diet control, stress management, and relapse prevention. To encourage participation, lunch is provided, and incentives such as gift cards are offered for attendance and achievement. These comprehensive measures aim to create a clean and healthy campus environment and to enhance the awareness of smoking hazards among all faculty and students.
