Local community outreach for energy efficiency
In 2024, NYCU expanded its outreach in clean energy and energy efficiency education through several public programmes. The university’s Liberal Arts Office offered the Zero-Carbon Emissions Micro-Program, covering topics like carbon inventory, sustainable development, and circular economy. The Sustainability Leadership Micro-Program introduced ESG implementation, green technology exploration, and sustainable business practices to students and local community members. Additionally, NYCU’s Taiwan Business Center hosted the “ESG Net-Zero Strategy Manager Course”, consisting of a 7-day training programme aimed at corporate sustainability officers, net-zero planning personnel, and those seeking certifications in ESG or net-zero strategy. Through publicly announced curricula and workshops, NYCU enables community engagement in clean energy knowledge, builds capacity in energy efficiency, and promotes awareness of sustainable governance and net-zero goals.
