Employment practice labour rights

The university engages in regular collective bargaining with unions to negotiate terms and conditions of employment. These agreements cover critical aspects such as pay equity, job security, and workplace safety, benefiting all employees, including women and international staff. Recent outcomes from collective bargaining negotiations have included measures that specifically address issues such as babysitting measures, overtime compensatory leave rules, pay equity adjustments, and occupational safety and health. Also, the university provides training on employee rights, including the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining, ensuring that all staff are aware of and understand their rights within the workplace.
