Current collaborations with health institutions
1. Local: NYCU is enhancing senior well-being through two key initiatives. The “Gong Academy” brings seniors back to campus for intergenerational courses to share their wisdom. In parallel, the “Smart Health Promotion Program,” in collaboration with local pharmacies, uses AI-based exercise equipment and social events to improve physical and cognitive health.
2. National: NYCU, through its national “UHCOOL” program, is partnering with the New Taipei City Government and clinicians to launch an “Introduction to Medicine” elective course for high schools. NYCU produces over 20 hours of online video lectures and materials on the ewant platform, supporting teachers and promoting resource sharing to cultivate future medical talent.
3. Global: NYCU, with the TSMC Charity Foundation & Taipei Veterans General Hospital (TVGH), is exporting its “Healthy Longevity Smart Livable Community” model to Kikuyo, Japan. This Taiwan-Japan collaboration uses smart health management and livable design to promote healthy aging and address the challenge of extended unhealthy life spans, building a sustainable community for seniors.
