Health outreach programmes

1. Local communities:
NYCU’s Department of Nursing partnered with Welson Pharmacy to launch a “Smart Health Promotion Program” for 112 seniors in Changhua and Yunlin. Using AI-driven exercise equipment, the program combined physical training with social activities, such as board games and art. The weekly interactive courses significantly improved participants’ muscle strength, endurance, coordination, and overall quality of life.

2. Disadvantaged people:
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, NYCU’s Boya College Center held a “Crocheted Knockers Workshop.” 60 participants learned crocheting skills to create soft, comfortable breast prostheses. These were donated to the Hope Foundation for Cancer Care, offering a thoughtful option for post-operative cancer survivors and conveying a message of community care to help them regain confidence.

3. Refugee/immigrant communities:
Scholarship Program for Ukrainian Students
NYCU actively recruits international students, including those from Ukraine. The university provides scholarships and comprehensive support measures to ensure they can adapt smoothly to their academic and daily lives and successfully complete their studies.
