Water reuse measurement

NYCU has a water reuse monitoring system in place across campuses. In 2024, the system will transition from the previous government-managed platform to a university-managed system so that the complete measurement will be temporarily unavailable. In previous years, full data was collected, for example, 38,908 cubic meters in 2023 and 104,880 cubic meters in 2022. The University maintains monitoring procedures to ensure accurate tracking once the new system is fully operational.

Evidence :

1.  NYCU Rainwater recycling architecture and recycling volume
Although 2024 data on reused water volume are not available due to the system transition, the amount can be reasonably estimated. Since rainfall is positively correlated with the collected rainwater volume, we used meteorological data from two nearby weather stations—Zhuzihu and Anbu (provided by Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration, CWA )—to estimate the reuse volume for 2024 through interpolation. Based on this calculation, the approximate amount of reused water is between 75,797 and 82,542 cubic meters.
