NYCU Partners with Ennoconn to Establish ESG Innovation Research Center, Driving Net-Zero AIoT Solutions
National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) partnered with Ennoconn Group, a leader in industrial IoT and edge computing, to establish the “Ennoconn-NYCU ESG Net Zero Transformation & Innovation Research Center” (ESG Center), which recently marked its first anniversary. The ESG Center has successfully supported 13 net-zero AIoT startups, including Locus Connect, GoodLinker, GoEdge.ai, and JIA KENG Technology — in joining Ennoconn’s integrated solution ecosystem, ESaaS (Ennoconn Solution as a Service).
This partnership harnesses both parties’ core technologies and top-tier talent, achieving seamless vertical and horizontal integration of hardware and software. The collaboration propels Taiwan closer to its net-zero ambitions and expands into international markets, setting a new benchmark for sustainable smart cities and technologies worldwide.
Fostering Green Talent and Building an Innovation Ecosystem
In response to government policies promoting diverse talent, the ESG Center’s “Niche Women in Tech” team collaborated with Ennoconn subsidiary ENNOWELL — a smart building AI startup — to host a career-focused seminar. The event highlighted the potential of digital twin technology and green talent development strategies, attracting significant participation from NYCU students. Notably, nearly one-third of attendees expressed interest in joining ENNOWELL’s internship program, underscoring the impactful synergy between academia and industry.
“While advancing industry-academia collaboration, the university is also committed to addressing the pressing talent shortage faced by enterprises,” said NYCU President Chi-Hung Lin. “Through non-degree learning programs and internship opportunities, we aim to cultivate industry-ready talent and reinforce the bridge between academia and the corporate world.”
United Efforts to Shape the Future of Industry-Academia Collaboration
“Talent is the most critical asset for any enterprise,” Ennoconn Group Chairman Fu-Chuan Chu emphasized. “Through the ESG Center, we look forward to integrating the resources of academia, industry, and research to cultivate a cross-disciplinary talent ecosystem and usher in a new era of sustainable development in Taiwan.”
Professor Ching Yao Huang, Director of the ESG Center and Office of Industry-Academy Cocreation at NYCU, highlighted the university’s cutting-edge research achievements. He noted that future collaborations will leverage Ennoconn’s aerospace, smart manufacturing, and semiconductors expertise to facilitate more industry-academia projects and accelerate the development and application of patented technologies.
Showcasing Global Leadership in Net-Zero Smart Cities at the 2025 Smart City Summit & Expo
Looking ahead, the ESG Center and Ennoconn Group will join the “2025 Smart City Summit & Expo” to showcase their collaborative smart net-zero city model on this international stage. The event will spotlight innovative solutions while fostering strategic partnerships with companies in Japan, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Together, they aim to position Taiwan as a global leader in zero-carbon technologies, solidifying its role as a beacon of sustainability.
