Beginning in 2020, the Chiaotung Campus offers the general education course entitled “Explore the World: Global Perspective Trainings for NYCU Students” which will invite speakers from certain countries who have substantial knowledge to provide lectures. Using appropriate themes, they bring the outer world into Taiwan through speeches, expanding students’ global perspectives, and helping them understand the opportunities and challenges of studying and working abroad.

This year (2022), the Yangming Campus invited speakers that had made outstanding achievements in various fields and had their observations and perceptions of the world, as part of its Mobile Yangming Lecture Series, allowing students to become locally immersed in internationalization.

The “Mobile Yangming Lecture Series” has held three keynote speeches this year. The first session invited film director Hung Shih-Ting to share her work experience abroad with students; in the second session, Wei Yi-Jia, a Chinese language teacher at the Language Learning and Writing Center (LLWC), shared Chinese learning skills and learning resources with foreign students; Michael Stuart, a Canadian professor from the Institute of Philosophy of Mind and Cognition, is specially invited in the third session to lead overseas and local students on a journey exploring “imagination”.
