In order to improve the digital teaching ability of high school teachers in Taiwan, NYCU, and Chihlee University of Technology jointly promoted the “National High School Vocational Teacher Digital Empowerment Training Program”, created with reference to the Digital Competence Framework for Educators proposed by the EU Science Hub to design a four-stage training program for teacher’s digital teaching ability to help them make full use of digital tools, improve the interaction between teachers and students, adjust teaching strategies, and thereby help students regain their learning motivation and create a unique classroom environment.
NYCU, Chihlee University of Technology, Taoyuan City, New Taipei City, and Keelung City organized an online opening ceremony in July 2022 for ” National High School Vocational Teacher Digital Empowerment Training”. Taoyuan City Department of Education Director Lin Ming-Yu and Keelung City Department of Education Director Du Guo-Zheng attended the online ceremony. It is expected that the empowerment training will benefit teachers’ ability to implement digital teaching, and that sharing the ewant platform will provide students with more choices and thereby practice the concept of “the common good”.
This training course is “Level 1 Digital Teaching Explorer”. The course gathered 19 university and high school vocational teachers with rich digital experience to impart their practical experience in integrating digital tools into physical classroom teaching and trained teachers to have a basic understanding of digital applications and to be familiar with available digital resources suitable for their subjects so that they can apply them to in-person instruction in the classroom.
