Pedestrian priority on campus

The University provides safe and friendly pedestrian walkways. The walkways connect the pedestrian spaces on campus, thereby allowing students to take walking as their first choice to commute on campus. In 2020, the University completed a 100 m long, 1.8 m wide tree-lined pedestrian avenue to separate vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Improvements were made to a 250 m core section and surrounding open spaces of Jinzhu Avenue by the Chiaotung Campus Library. Improvements were also made to the pedestrian walkway and notice boards by the dormitory building (approximately 50 m in length). A total of 2,400 m2 of campus space was renovated. The construction of the pedestrian walkways of the Yangming Campus is now complete. The University inspects and improves the pedestrian walkways of the Yangming Campus on an as-needed basis. The University also sets a pedestrian zone separately, and no cars are allowed in the pedestrian zone.
