Access to food security knowledge
The university provides local farmers and food producers with significant access to advanced knowledge, skills, and technology concerning food security and sustainable agriculture.
1. Advancing Sustainable Agriculture Technology
The university utilizes the 5G AIoT Smart Agriculture Platform to drive innovation:
Technology Transfer: The platform uses 5G to transmit sensor data and images with high speed and reliability to a cloud system, creating robust data for AI Smart Agriculture development.
Efficiency & Sustainability: It enables remote control of farm facilities (e.g., irrigation, fertilization), significantly improving production efficiency and promoting eco-friendly agricultural technology to reduce environmental impact.
Collaboration: This work facilitates industry-academia collaboration and sustainable operation with local producers.
2. Open Knowledge and Skills Development
We provide open access to educational resources that enhance food management and safety skills.
3. The university provides comprehensive, sustainable food choices and actively promotes green dining. All dining venues offer vegetarian/vegan options. Vendors must register ingredient sources on the “”Campus Food Ingredients Registration Platform”” and are encouraged to prioritize local produce to cut carbon emissions.
4. Waste Reduction and Incentives
The university enforces no disposable cutlery for dine-in. To promote source reduction, vendors offer an NTD 5 discount for reusable containers. Furthermore, we provide a reusable meal box scheme for campus events and track kitchen waste to minimize food loss.
