Access to food security knowledge

The university provides local farmers and food producers with significant access to advanced knowledge, skills, and technology concerning food security and sustainable agriculture.
■ Advancing Sustainable Agriculture Technology
The university utilizes the 5G AIoT Smart Agriculture Platform to drive innovation. The platform utilizes 5G to transmit sensor data and images at high speed and reliability to a cloud system, thereby creating robust data for AI-driven Smart Agriculture development. It enables remote control of farm facilities (e.g., irrigation, fertilization), significantly improving production efficiency and promoting eco-friendly agricultural technology to reduce environmental impact. This work facilitates industry-academia collaboration and sustainable operation with local producers.
■ Incubation and Accelerator Programs
We nurture startups through incubation and accelerator programs, while connecting them to key resources. Supported by NYCU’s Industry–Academia Co-Creation Office, the spinoff startup AgriFront Biotech addresses food safety in aquaculture by leveraging a portable surface plasmon resonance testing platform and delivering innovative solutions for detecting veterinary drugs in aquatic animals.
■ Open Knowledge and Skills Development
Our open courseware platform offers a variety of courses in food management, food safety, and regulation, free of charge to staff, students, and the local community, enriching knowledge and enhancing skills for all.
