From 2021, Hsinchu Fuli Junior High School has welcomed international students from NYCU to carry out an activity called “Bringing the World into the Classroom”. During the lunch break, foreign students from different countries will be invited to share their unique cultures, festival, and etiquette with students from Grade 7 – 9. By combining their expertise in sports, science, and experiments with bilingual communication as well as some light-themed sharing, this activity will cultivate middle school students in remote areas to get more familiar with English, so that they will not be afraid to communicate with people from different countries. Mohammed W. I. Sulaiman, a Ph.D. student from Palestine, used his spare time to come to Hsinchu Fuli Junior High School for cultural exchange, by teaching a group of 13 to 14 years old students how to wrap a scarf around their heads as Palestinian females do and showing them a prayer dance from his hometown. At the same time, everyone listens to the story of Sulaiman’s hometown.
