Providing Sufficient, Safe, Affordable Dormotories and Basic Services

2022-11-15

[Yang Ming Campus]

The staff dormitory at the Yangming Campus has 151 units, including hilltop houses, the hillside village, and foothill apartments. Among the 151 units, 114 are for long-term faculty and staff, while 35 are for new faculty members. The prices are less than the market price, and its public areas are well-maintained. The University prepares a budget for repair to help teachers have a comfortable environment and attract extraordinary researchers to serve at school.

Since Yang Ming Campus is located beside the slope area, it has commissioned companies to perform automatic and human monitoring every year, to keep an eye on slope stability, and to check on whether there are dislocation or unstable conditions around the buildings. Yang Ming Campus has also allocated a budget for improving drainage facilities, and maintaining campus security.

[Chiao Tung Campus]

The staff dormitory in the Chiaotung Campus consists of six dormitory areas: the Jiangong, Delin, Boai, Kowloon, Xuefu Road, and Daxue Road staff dormitories. The 1st Graduate Dormitory also has two single rooms. The dormitories have 22 buildings in total, including approximately 161 single-room units and 125 multi-room units. NYCU evaluates the condition of the buildings annually and allocates a budget for maintenance to provide faculty and staff with safe and affordable accommodation.
