Center for Industry-Academia Collaboration holds a series of courses on intellectual property rights to enhance knowledge

2023-05-30

NYCU’s Center for Academia and Industry Collaboration conducts a series of intellectual property courses each year for NYCU faculty members, students, and interested members of the public. In addition to improving the intellectual property knowledge of both faculty and students of the university, it is also open to the public to participate online to provide quality education and comprehensively enhance the concept of intellectual property rights for all.

Therefore, in 2021, four courses on intellectual property rights were held, with lecturers with ample practical experience in the industry. The courses included: “From Invention Disclosure to Writing Patent Applications,” “Campus Intellectual Property Protection from the Perspective of the Ministry of Education Campus Intellectual Property Protection Action Plan,” “Notes on Industry-Academia Collaboration and Technology Transfer Contracts,” and “Patent Analysis and Search.” There were 203 participants in total. In addition to the faculty and students of the school, each course includes the participation of people from outside the school. Through simple and easy-to-understand conceptual explanations, the participants strengthen their knowledge of intellectual property rights, which can then be applied to protect research and development results. It is hoped that the use of intellectual property rights can contribute to achieving the SDGs.
