National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University’s interdisciplinary research with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, has brought the next-generation solar cells forward into commercialization. With the new type of perovskite solar cell, Professor Chien-Lung Wang’s team from the Department of Applied Chemistry and Professor Stefaan De Wolf’s team from KAUST Solar Center have successfully developed stable perovskite solar cells using the grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering from National Synchrotron Radiation Center (NSRRC) to analyze the 2D/3D composite nanostructure of the new perovskite solar cell, opening a new path to commercialization. The success of both parties in sustainable energy will hopefully inspire more future collaborations as well as multinational and cross-disciplinary research.
