5/14 Contemplative Approaches to Law, Governance, and Public Policy in Asia

2026-05-13

In discussions on law, governance, and public policy, we often focus on institutions, rules, and problem-solving. But what if we also brought mindfulness, meditation, and contemplative approaches into these fields? Could they open up new ways of understanding and practicing law and governance?

The School of Law, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, together with the Asia Network for Contemplative Legal and Policy Studies, will co-host the international conference “Contemplative Approaches to Law, Governance, and Public Policy in Asia.” This conference will bring together scholars and practitioners from diverse backgrounds to explore how mindfulness and contemplative approaches may be applied to legal education, governance models, and public policy.

The program will include keynote speeches, panel discussions, meditation workshops, and roundtable discussions. Whether you are already interested in mindfulness and meditation, or simply curious about how these approaches may connect with law, policy, and social governance, we warmly welcome you to join us!

The conference information is as follows:
