NYCU combines resources from all sides to cultivate international talents with practical industrial experience

2023-03-03

In order to help overseas Chinese students and international students staying in Taiwan for employment after graduation, NYCU invited professional lecturers in the first semester of 2021 to conduct 9 job-seeking workshops covering a variety of topics, including business Chinese, mock interviews, writing online resumes, and English presentations.

As part of the job-seeking workshops, NYCU invited Chang Guo-Qiang, a professional career consultant with managerial expertise in the tech industry and is currently a corporate mentor and consultant for many universities, to lecture at the “all-English mock interview workshop”. On May 4th and 18th, 2021, Chang spoke to the overseas Chinese students and international students in NYCU on elevating their competitiveness and provides interview techniques and knowledge about Taiwanese IT firms. On the day of the event, 10 overseas Chinese students or international students had one-on-one mock interviews and career consultations with lecturers. The event also provided job-hunting training especially geared to the needs of overseas Chinese students.

NYCU also collaborated with the Ministry of Economic Affairs to organize the “2021 Career Talk and Employment Meetings” event for overseas Chinese students and international students. The event had more than 100 job vacancies provided by 4 companies, namely ASML, Digiwin Software Co, Wistron, and Dimerco Express Corporation, with on-site interview opportunities for overseas Chinese students and international students.

NYCU knows the importance to the industry of retaining outstanding international individuals and thus actively strengthens the links between overseas students and domestic industries. NYCU also invests a large amount of resources to enhance the competitiveness of overseas students and organizes talent matchmaking events. This not only fills the talent gap in domestic industries, but also contributes to global economic growth after international talents with practical industry experience return to work in their home countries.
