In terms of taking care of the financially disadvantaged students, Division of Student Assistance from our campus not only follows the laws and regulations but also unifies humanistic care, companionship, and financial assistance into one student assistance service.

  1. Providing care when accepting various applications

In the process of accepting students’ application for tuition and miscellaneous fee reduction, Division of Student Assistance will further assist in providing referrals of other resources and continue to care about students’ conditions through inquiring, caring and listening to students’ learning and living difficulties. When a student needs further support, Division of Student Assistance will immediately contact the student’s mentor and Counseling Center to form a caring network. If there is an urgent situation, financial emergency relief and scholarship information could also be provided.

 

  1. Improving the learning guidance system for disadvantaged students

SPROUT Project provides various learning guidance for economically disadvantaged students, including:

    • subsidies for the purchase of books
    • hiring a tutor to support students who suffered from low grades
    • providing rewards including subsidies from forming a study club
    • scholarships from designing academic projects, cross-disciplinary course learning
    • subsidies for national exam registration fees
    • some additional rewards for passing the exam
    • subsidies for participation in club activities
    • rewards for participation in career exploration activities

Learning guidance provides students with a full range of educational resources and financial reliefs needed during their studies. By submitting the reflection paper, the students

 

  1. Care for Overseas Chinese and Mainland students

Our campus organizes various activities to care for Overseas Chinese and Mainland students every year, including arranging the Spring Festival at professors’ homes to enjoy the Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner and also arranging a series of spring season activities and cultural visits to enable students to learn Taiwan’s unique ecology as well as the cultural customs of various parts of Taiwan. In addition, festive specialties, such as rice dumplings and moon cakes, are presented every year and holidays; letting non-local students feel the university’s heartwarming care.
