“If everyone is willing to contribute a little bit of energy to the environment, this earth will have 7 billion energy to help make it better!” With this conviction, 61 students from NCTU cleaned up the beach in Nanliao on the 27th. After two hours of work, they cleaned up an astonishing total of 325 kg of trash, including many fishing nets, plastic bags, plastic bottles, lighters, straws, glass bottles and cigarette butts.
Director Chang Wen-Hao of the Service Learning Center hopes that students can go into nature and see the challenges and problems faced by the environment, and do their part for the land we live in through practical actions to reduce marine pollution.
