Brief Introduction:

What are the SDGs? What is a sustainable society?

With only five years remaining until the 2030 deadline set for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the SDGs have become a common language for global citizens over the past decade. But did you know that the SDGs actually include gender equality? That peace in conflicts like the Russia-Ukraine war or the Israel-Hamas conflict is also related to the SDGs?

This talk will explore the knowledge and meaning behind five of the 17 SDGs that focus on the social dimension, as well as how we can put them into practice in daily life or in the workplace. These include:

  • SDG 4: Quality Education
  • SDG 5: Gender Equality
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
  • SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

First, I will explain the three dimensions of the SDGs—social, economic, and environmental—and the significance of their interconnections. At their core, the SDGs reflect the values of human rights.
