Mental health support for students

1.Mental Health Awareness Campaigns
The university regularly runs mental health awareness campaigns to reduce stigma and encourage students to seek help when needed. These campaigns include events, workshops, and lectures that promote mental health literacy and highlight the support services available.

2. 24/7 Mental Health Helpline
To ensure that support is available at all times, the university provides a 24/7 mental health helpline. This service allows students to speak to a trained professional at any time, offering immediate support in times of crisis or distress. The helpline is an essential resource for students who need urgent assistance outside of regular office hours.

3. Department Consulting Services
Each department has a dedicated department counsellor. In addition to offering students consultation and guidance on academic matters, the counsellor organises exclusive lectures and activities for the department’s students, as well as career planning courses for first-year students. Students can seek advice and support from their department’s counsellor if they are facing issues such as academic challenges, relationships, or interpersonal concerns.

4.Mental Health Leave
We offer the mental health leave to students to address rising rates of youth suicide and high levels of stress and depression. Students can apply for up to three days off each semester, taken as full or half days, without proof of need, but with the permission of their parents.
