Public access to libraries

NYCU’s library is open to the public at no cost, demonstrating that openness and excellence reinforce each other. It offers a research collection of over 3 million print volumes and journals, over 1.5 million electronic resources, and more than 30,000 databases, supported by over 2,000 reading seats and welcoming study areas. Robust interlibrary collaboration further expands the scope of what any single library can offer. Equity is built in: the NYCU Audio Magazine for the Visually Impaired, integrated with the National Taiwan Library’s Visual Impairment Information System, extends access beyond physical and temporal barriers. By removing price and disability as filters, the Library multiplies learning, strengthens the community, and turns access into public value.
