Local education programmes on climate

In 2024, NYCU provided local education programs and campaigns on Climate Change, including:
1. Risks – Prof. Chung-Jung Liu contributed to the Conference organized by the FIRDI, delivering a keynote on climate change and emerging food safety issues.
2. Impacts –NYCU featured the Climate Film Festival, co-organized with NGOs, with post-screening discussions to raise awareness of climate impacts.
3. Mitigation – Public lectures and webinars, such as Blue Innovations for Net Zero and the Tang Prize Master Forum, highlighted pathways for carbon reduction.
4. Adaptation – NYCU DPWE organized expert training on water storage and diversion structure safety, supporting adaptation to climate-related disasters.
5. Impact Reduction – Dr. Sheng-Hsueh Yang collaborated with MOI at the seminar, offering a lecture on smart flood control technologies and response integration.
6. Early Warning – Expert training and outreach by NYCU enhanced local capacity for disaster prevention and early warning systems.
