Policy- and lawmakers outreach and education

• NYCU offers part-time advanced degrees and allows policymakers, lawmakers, and the public to enroll in individual credit courses. The School of Law plays a leading role in policy engagement, with its annual technology law conference drawing government and private sector participants to discuss emerging legal and technological issues.
• In 2024, NYCU hosted the World Bamboo Forum, welcoming over 200 experts from 30 countries to highlight bamboo’s diverse applications and its role in sustainable development.
• NYCU collaborated with the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction on a long-term study of 1,236 households affected by Typhoon Morakot. The study emphasized the importance of psychological adjustment and autonomy in disaster response.
• NYCU partnered with the Chateau Group to launch Taiwan’s first AI-powered Continuous Care Retirement Community in Yilan, integrating healthcare, long-term care, and AI to address the challenges of a super-aged society.
