Healthy and affordable food choices

The university ensures both healthy and affordable food choices are available for everyone on campus through strict regulatory adherence and targeted discount programs.
■ Healthy food choices
All on-campus restaurants strictly adhere to Ministry of Education regulations, and upload ingredient information and sources of foods to the “Campus Food Ingredients Registration Platform” every day. Also, these restaurants post nutrition and calorie information for the foods and meals they offer, enabling consumers to make informed, healthy choices.
■ Affordable food choices
The restaurants on campus offer meal discounts, including (1) offering exclusive discounts to those who bring their own cups and containers. (2) providing discounts for those with faculty and student IDs, (3) cafeterias offering extra discounts for late lunch hours and dinner hours. This not only reduces meal expenses but also helps decrease food waste, further lowering carbon emissions. (4) On-campus convenience stores also offer “friendly short-lived food” at 5:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m., providing a 35% or 30% discount for perishable foods. These measures also reduce meal expenses, food waste, and carbon emissions.
