Policy development for clean energy technology

NYCU’s Tainan Campus (College of Artificial Intelligence) was established in cooperation with the Executive Yuan’s Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City, aligning academic R&D with national and municipal priorities for smart/green energy and related industries. The Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City (a central-government initiative implemented with the Tainan City Government) develops pillars of energy creation, saving, storage, and smart systems, and serves as a national demonstration/scale-up base—NYCU is a core academic partner on site. In 2024, NYCU co-hosted the Tang Prize Master Forum on 2050 net-zero, where Prof. Omar M. Yaghi (MOFs/COFs pioneer) discussed carbon capture and high-density hydrogen/methane storage and AI-driven materials design—providing decision-makers with cutting-edge options for decarbonization pathways.
