“Course. City: Exploring Dadaocheng” Presentation of Results

2024-03-04

Event Time: 03/09 (Saturday) 10:00-12:00

Event Venue: Yangming Campus Library 3rd Floor Multifunctional Exhibition Hall

Dadaocheng was the largest market street in northern Taiwan during the late Qing dynasty. It was once a bustling commercial center with numerous foreign firms and gave rise to many significant historical figures. Simultaneously, the history of Dadaocheng serves as a microcosm of modern Taiwanese history. However, is our imagination of Dadaocheng still stuck in the impression of a bustling New Year goods street? How much curiosity do we still have about its past and present?

The National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University Liberal Arts College 112-2 “Course. City: Exploring Dadaocheng” focuses on the theme of “Local Cultural and Historical Exploration of Dadaocheng.” Under the guidance of the teaching team from National Yang-Ming University and industry mentors, students bring their own curiosity about Dadaocheng, documenting their stories about the area. This course-presentation will take place on March 9th, where students will present their narratives about Dadaocheng in the form of short films. We cordially invite all faculty and students to participate.
