2026 NYCU Sustainability Year – June Theme

The June theme of the 2026 NYCU Sustainability Year“Bamboo for Inclusion, Harmony in Action,” is now underway.

This month’s program focuses on bamboo culture, circular economy practices, ecological education, local revitalization, and cultural sustainability. Through exhibitions, guided tours, community markets, hands-on workshops, and field visits, we invite the NYCU community to explore the connections between people and nature, culture and cities, and tradition and innovation.

1. Sustainable Campus Bamboo Expo

2. Campus Tree Circular Economy Guided Tour II

• From Trees to Daily Life: Campus Tree Tour Led by the Hsinchu Wild Bird Society (Registration Required)

3. Hakka Culture Sustainability Week II

• “Have You Visited the Hakka Courtyard?” Hakka Language Challenge and DIY Workshop

Experience Hakka culture through interactive activities and hands-on learning while exploring its connection to sustainability.

4. Sustainability Journey I: From Local Culture to Future Cities

• Walking Through Caotun: Craft Culture and Historic Street Exploration

Location: National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute & Caotun Old Street

• Co-Learning Trip: Bamboo, Creativity, and Community Exploration
Date & Time: July 2–3, 2026
Location: Rewood Community Innovation Base, Hukou

Through visits to local cultural sites, circular material initiatives, ecological education venues, and community innovation projects, participants will gain new perspectives on sustainable cities and future living.

We invite you to join us this June as we explore how bamboo, culture, ecology, and community engagement can inspire sustainable action and contribute to a more resilient future.
