Energy-efficient renovation and building

To enhance energy efficiency, NYCU proactively promoted energy conservation and established the Energy Conservation Promotion Committee in 2021. The Committee sets energy conservation goals, plans, and standards, reviews the energy conservation plans of all departments and the effectiveness of execution, promotes carbon reduction, facilitates water recycling, and develops energy conservation incentives to ensure that all new/remodeled buildings comply with energy efficiency standards. Therefore, since 2015, the University has had one diamond-level, two golden-level, nine silver-level, four bronze-level, fourteen qualified, and eight exempt assessments-level certified green buildings pass Taiwan’s green building certification, EEWH. These buildings have architectural designs emphasizing symbiosis with the environment and sustainable development, in line with the certification’s nine indicators, including biodiversity, energy saving, and carbon dioxide emissions reduction.
