Education for SDGs commitment to meaningful education

■ NYCU’s Liberal Arts College hosts a “Sustainable and Peer Education Center (SPEC).” The center leads students in sustainability- and SDG-related engagement—such as SDG issue series and cross-disciplinary co-learning communities—embedding problem-based, hands-on learning that links academic study with social practice. This ensures meaningful, applicable SDG education accessible to all students across disciplines.
■ NYCU commits to a meaningful education of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. In 2024, we offered 13,270 courses related to the SDGs. The top 3 SDG that had been taught were SDG 4, 3, and 8. All courses and programs align with multiple SDGs and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to local and global sustainability. For more our education for sustainable development, please refer to evidence links.
■ The Office of Sustainable Development and University Social Responsibility (OSS) hosts the “Sustainability Week” annually, mobilizing multiple units and explicitly featuring SDG-based practice, inviting all faculty, staff, and students to participate—creating campus-wide, action-learning opportunities.
