3/18 Tree Climbing & Slow Forest Breathing

2026-03-09

Do you still remember the breathtaking feat this January when Alex Honnold free-soloed to the top of Taipei 101, taking on a vertical landmark with nothing but his bare hands?

This spring, we invites you back to deep within the campus woods for a resistance-training adventure that heals the five senses while pushing your limits!

  • Treetop Walk: Learn to climb using arborist ropes and Blake’s hitch knot technique. Transform into a carefree “inchworm,” engaging your core and coordinated body movements—bending and extending your way up to the treetops.
  • Tree Bouldering: Combine “monkey-style tree rock climbing” techniques to experience freehand vertical climbing among natural trees, feeling the fingertip tension and balance of bouldering in a forest setting.
  • High-Altitude Zipline: Glide between two trees and channel your inner Tarzan as you race through the air, exhilarated by the rush of the zipline system.

Begin your adventure in the most scenic corner of our campus track and field stadium. Under the guidance and protection of professional instructors, you’ll challenge yourself through hands-on physical practice while embracing the spirit of sustainability: “Love trees—start by climbing them.”

If you never climb a tree in your youth, you’ll miss out!
Consider this a must-do experience on your personal “life learning checklist.”

Let’s go tree climbing!
