Provide a diverse learning opportunities by offering learning support to disadvantaged students

2023-11-09

Our school places a strong emphasis on balancing the learning and life needs of students by integrating self-awareness, assisting students in overcoming their difficulties, and cultivating positive problem-solving and stress management skills. In order to address advances in information technology and the digitalization development, NYCU’s Center of Teaching and Learning Development is keeping up-to-date with educational delivery methods. In addition to physical lectures, workshops, and online seminars, in 2022 we introduced a “Learning Exploration Digital Course”, which allows learners to plan their studies more freely and flexibly without time and location restriction. A total of 20 learning seminars, including 10 online seminars were organized, with nearly 1700 participants in 2022. From January to June 2023, 17 learning seminars were conducted, including 13 online seminars, with over 300 participants. The topics covered in these seminars include recent trends such as ChatGPT, utilizing digital notes, and learning interest exploration.

In terms of academic learning, our school provides learning support and guidance for disadvantaged students. Based on the actual needs of the students, we hire outstanding graduate students from master’s and doctoral programs to serve as academic tutors. Through a one-on-one tutoring mechanism, we offer tailored learning opportunities to close the learning gaps. In 2022, our school assisted more than 100 students, not only in basic subjects but also in advanced subjects. We cherish and do not give up on any student, providing resources and support for academic tutoring.
