Planning development – new build standards

The University builds to recognized sustainable standards and requires all new construction and renovations to comply with the Taipei City Green Building Autonomy Act, Hsinchu City regulations, and EEWH Green Building Label criteria (Taiwan’s national green-building standard). To date, 10 campus buildings hold active EEWH certifications: 5 Are Certified, 2 Are Bronze, 2 Are Silver, and 1 Is Diamond. Phase II of the Shilin Campus Innovation Incubation Building is underway, targeting both Green Building and Intelligent Building certifications, with a strong focus on energy performance. In parallel, NYCU and Delta Electronics are delivering the Zhiyuan Building as a green, smart facility, utilizing IoT infrastructure and automated controls to reduce lifecycle costs while enhancing energy management, system integration, and security monitoring.
