Policy waste disposal – hazardous materials

The university has established clear guidelines for the management of laboratory waste, requiring all laboratories to follow waste sorting and disposal procedures. The Laboratory Waste Handling Regulations specify protocols for the handling, removal, and reporting of hazardous waste, including chemical, biological, and radioactive materials, and were most recently reviewed in 2025. Compliance is overseen by the Environmental Protection and Safety and Health Center, which conducts quarterly committee meetings to review policies and address hazardous waste management issues.
