International collaboration data gathering for SDG

NYCU is involved in several international research projects that focus on data collection and analysis related to the SDGs. We collaborate with global institutions, research networks, and organisations to gather data on key indicators, such as climate change, talent cultivation, and health. Examples include:
■NYCU has established a formal partnership with the UK’s National Innovation Centre Ageing (NICA) as its first partner in Taiwan, and will host a VOICE Global Citizens Network chapter in Taiwan to gather public input on ageing and longevity needs and to drive international research and innovation. The collaboration was formalized by an MoU signed in March 2024.
■NYCU’s delegation visited Tokyo Tech, Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kyushu, and Kumamoto; MoUs/agreements were signed with Hokkaido, Kumamoto, and Kyushu; plans include joint semiconductor labs at Kyushu University and NYCU, and credit recognition with Kumamoto University. The initiative aims to promote technological innovation and talent cultivation, integrate local industry–academia frameworks, and connect firms to the international semiconductor supply chain.
■NYCU launched the university-level Data Finance Innovation Center (DFI) to advance sustainable finance by integrating data-driven finance with international standards and cooperation. In June 2024, NYCU’s delegation visited Japan’s Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF) and National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) to discuss collaboration on the Taiwan–Japan semiconductor ecosystem, cross-sector STI cooperation in the digital era, and SDG-oriented initiatives.
