The Center for Open Resources in Higher Education of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University was invited to participate in the cross-domain elective course program of Taoyuan City Education Bureau, “Taoyuan International City, Education Technology Tour”. This summer, it convened lecturers from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Ilan University, Software University and GIGABYTE Technology to design an experience camp suitable for high school students to explore AI technology. Forty-three students from 14 high schools and vocational schools in Taoyuan City, they conducted topic ideation and AI creation through team cooperation competitions. The students showed unlimited creativity and cooperation spirit and gained valuable practical experience.

Yangming Jiaotong University has always attached great importance to the opportunity for young students to take root in STEM education. In response to the city government’s call to combine high school, college and national venue resources, it provides students with rich learning opportunities and experiences, and cultivates them to become spontaneous and proactive lifelong learners.

In order to showcase the fruitful results of this innovative education program, Taoyuan City will hold a grand “Taoyuan International City Education and Technology Tour” cross-domain elective course presentation at Taoyuan High School at 2:30 p.m. on November 18. The mayor of Taoyuan City will be present to present certificates of appreciation to the course providers participating in this program in recognition of their contributions to promoting innovative education.

The Taoyuan City Education Bureau said that this cooperation with National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University not only provides Taoyuan City’s high school students with a valuable opportunity to access cutting-edge AI technology, but also demonstrates the huge potential of industry-university cooperation in promoting science and technology education. In the future, the Education Bureau will continue to promote similar innovative education programs to provide students with more diversified learning opportunities and cultivate a new generation of science and technology talents who can lead the future.

Director Zhang Yongjia of the Higher Education Open Resources Research Center said that the Higher Education Open Resources Research Center has been committed to promoting shared education and sharing the rich learning resources of various universities through the ewant education network open education platform. He pointed out: “I am very happy to have such an opportunity to participate. I hope that through such course design, sharing platform and cross-domain cooperation, industry and academia can go deep into the education scene, and students can systematically start AI innovative thinking to prepare for future challenges.” He once again emphasized that the Higher Education Open Resources Research Center will continue to deepen cooperation with local governments, continue to actively participate in the innovation of basic education, contribute to the cultivation of future talents, and jointly explore more innovative education models.

The successful holding of the “Make Friends with AI-Hands-on Experience Camp” not only marks an important step for Taoyuan City in promoting innovative education, but also provides valuable experience for educational innovation in other regions. With the widespread application of AI technology in all walks of life, similar educational programs will lay a solid foundation for students’ future career development and lifelong learning.
