NYCU President Chi-Hung Lin, NCTU alumnus Stan Shih, along with Taichung Veterans General Hospital Director Shih-Ann Chen, launched the “Hospital + University + Industry 3-in-1 Smart Medical Development Project” to effectively integrate the expertise from hospitals, university, and corporate to accelerate the introduction of smart medical care into hospitals and homes.
More than 40 professors from electrical engineering and computer science participated in this project. At the same time, more than 90 doctors led by Taichung Veterans General Hospital’s director are also involving in this project. The research topics include rehabilitation care, image processing, hunchback detection, Parkinson’s disease, electronic nose, precision anesthesia, ICU monitoring system, etc. This “Hospital + University + Industry 3-in-1 Smart Medical Development Project” is designed to propose smart medical innovation based on clinical needs. NYCU invites professors in relevant expertise, such as electrical engineering, computer science, communications engineering, optoelectronics, cloud computing, materials science, AI and other fields to jointly discuss technical feasibility and propose specific plans for future collaboration.
