Plastic Reduction Campaign in NYCU

2023-11-09

Our school has been collaborating with the Ministry of Environment since 2022 to develop the “Reduction in the Use of Disposable Tableware and Packaging Drinking Water Implementation Plan.” We have organized plastic reduction seminars to raise sustainability awareness among students and faculty members. We have advise campus businesses to offer discounts on the use of reusable containers to deliver food and bring their own tableware. We work closely with the Hsinchu City government to create a supportive environment for the reduction of disposable products. Furthermore, we have been recommended by the Ministry of Education to participate in the MOE’s “Green Dining Service and Reduction Action Competition.” We achieved the highest “Excellence” award in the Environmental Pioneer category, making us the only university in the country to receive this award. In the future, we will continue to use our influence and cooperate with local industries to establish a plastic-free living environment in the university town. Our aim is to promote the campus plastic reduction and contribute to a sustainable and inclusive future.
