This event is maily conducted in Mandarin Chinese.

Embrace a diverse new life, starting with #StoryExchange!

Returning to the dorm, dropping your bag, and looking up, it’s already eleven o’clock. The calendar is packed with academics, work, and activities from the department and clubs. Every day is busy, inevitably forcing socialization, yet feeling oddly lonely? We live in a paradoxical era, where the alienation of overworked daily life leaves us with little time for self-dialogue. The fluidity of interpersonal relationships is like WiFi, omnipresent but often lacking signals when needed. Perhaps even the people we see every day are not well understood, let alone strangers.

It seems we have forgotten that ancient humans gathered around the campfire, and elders gathered in the temple courtyard, time began to flow in magical, less mechanical ways, and stories began to flow between people, embracing us with joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. The river of life woven by stories cleanses us, and understanding beyond the individual begins to happen.

In this workshop, CPEC invites Teacher Zheng Meili, active in community colleges and the gender movement. Her life narrative course at the community college has received long-term support from cross-generational students, with over twenty years of experience. We will explore the magic of life narrative methods and reawaken our instinct to exchange stories. More importantly, several special guests with diverse life experiences will join us, they may be lesbian women who have not yet come out, or transgender individuals still facing peculiar looks…, However, these identity labels are not that important; labels show us differences, but life stories show us commonalities.

Stories are bridges to oneself, stories are boats sailing toward others, When the ritual in which stories flow once again, let us become gentler people together.

Diversity connects, experiential learning, we are LACCPEC !
