Animal lovers across campus—gather up. We’re so proud of this one.
In the 114-2 semester, NYCU Life Care Club is bringing a true heavyweight in animal behavior to campus: Dr. Geng-Ji Dai, a renowned expert in veterinary behavioral medicine.
Talk title:
“Love Can Also Be Harmful — The Animal Behavior Truth You Never Knew”
Time: Thu, May 14, 19:00–22:00
Location: 1F Meeting Room, Activity Center, Yangming Campus, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University
What we think is “being loving” might actually be doing the opposite:
constant soothing hugs, endless treats, reacting immediately every time they vocalize, never setting boundaries…
Sometimes, these well-meant actions quietly increase stress and anxiety—and can even contribute to behavioral problems.
This talk will help you understand animals from the ground up through two key themes:
1) Animal emotions — What are they really feeling? Where does their sense of security come from?
2) How behavior problems develop and change — What seems “sudden” is often a signal that’s been building over time.
