As land development continues to expand, the boundaries between humans and wildlife are becoming increasingly blurred. What once seemed clearly separated is now replaced by more frequent encounters, conflicts, and the pressing need to rethink coexistence.
This semester, the Liberal Arts Center for Sustainable Education (LAC x SPEC) centers its SDGs programming on Goal 15: Life on Land, with a focus on biodiversity, habitat protection, and land restoration. Through a series of activities, we aim to explore the complex relationships between humans and the environment from multiple perspectives.
This event features the documentary Wild Road, accompanied by a talk from a frontline practitioner. Participants will gain insight into the realities of wildlife conservation—ranging from moments of rescue to the challenges posed by limited resources, institutional frameworks, and ethical decision-making.
As wildlife increasingly appears at the edges of human life, how should we understand “coexistence”? What does it mean to make decisions in situations shaped by injury, loss, and constraint? These questions will be explored through film and discussion.

Audience: Open to all faculty, staff, and students (capacity: 60)
No food or drinks allowed in the venue.
